Paediatric Physiotherapy

Children are not just small adults!

In the first few years of life, children are developing their gross motor, fine motor, social and language skills at a rapid rate. They go from being able to roll to crawl and crawl to walk in a very short space of time. Sometimes, children can be delayed in achieving their developmental milestones, and as with all things – early intervention is the best form of treatment. If you have any concerns about your child, don’t hesitate to get in contact!

Paediatric physiotherapy aims to improve children’s movement to assist them in reaching their developmental milestones. Here are some things we can help with:

  • Babies and toddlers having trouble developing skills such as rolling, crawling, standing or walking
  • Children with difficulty developing balance, hopping, jumping or running
  • Gross motor and fine motor assessments
  • Children with limited neck movement
  • Plagiocephaly
  • Toe walking
  • Children recovering from surgical operations such as leg-lengthening, hip osteotomies, broken bones
  • Developmental coordination disorder
  • Concussion
  • Pain

Emily Evans at our City West Clinic has further training in the assessment and management of paediatric conditions. The City West clinic is an NDIS registered clinic and welcomes both private and NDIS funded patients.
