Special Interests: Complex Pain Conditions, Persistent Neck & Low Back Pain, Shoulder & Arm Pain
Matt graduated with Honours from the University of Newcastle in 2007. He initially spent some time working in local hospitals before moving to Canberra with his wife and joining the Capital Clinic team in 2009.
Matt has a keen interest in all areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy but quickly developed a special interest in the science of pain and the treatment of complex pain conditions, including longstanding neck and back pain. This interest led Matt to complete a Master of Science in Medicine (Pain Management) through the University of Sydney. He is now one of only a few physiotherapists to hold this qualification at a Masters level in the ACT and was among the first in the country to be recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Association with the title of APA Pain Physiotherapist. Matt has an ongoing passion for helping those in high levels of pain or suffering from complex conditions and helping to direct treatment where other approaches may have failed.
Matt also has a strong interest in the management of sporting injuries and the importance of workplace health. Matt regularly presents to various organisations, including Government, on the importance of workplace health and the various contributors to the pain experience.
In 2014 Matt became a Director of the City West clinic which is located in the AON building on London circuit.
